The goal at Adventure-Science is to provide clients with technical skills and knowledge to be successful in their adventures.  We teach practical application of mountain skills with an emphasis on the how and why so the client gains a solid understanding of the principles behind the technical skills and can apply them in any situation.

Our other goal is to provide the best value for your money.  We don't work to a fixed schedule and the day ends when the client has met their goals for the day.  From an alpine start to coming off the mountain by headlamp you'll be sure to get the most out of your time with us.

With a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology I have been working professionally as an engineer for over 20 years with experience developing and testing products ranging from industrial equipment to military weapons to consumer products.  I’m a machinist, a welder, a mechanic, a craftsman, and also a pilot with extensive knowledge of how to make things and how they work.  My interest in climbing began when I moved to Vermont in 1996 and since then I have travelled extensively seeking out mountain adventures.  I have been guiding rock and ice in the northeast since 2005 and I am currently based in the Adirondacks of New York.

My background in engineering along with over 20 years of climbing experience and professional guide training has given me a unique technical understanding of all things climbing related.  I go beyond what the average guide can offer and will explain things such as the physics behind anchor systems or the limitations of climbing equipment, and I can dispel any myths you may have heard about things failing.
